Sir,
I received your letter of the 9th instant James Doles Pension was stopd from the 4th March 1795, until it should amount to four hundred and seventy two Dollars which he had been erroneously paid as mentioned to you in a letter from the Secretary of War dated 11th August 1795.
His Pension (which is one hundred Dollars p Annum) from March 1795 to March 1800 will leave a balance of twenty eight Dollars in his favour which you will pay to him — his pension will recommence at the former rate, viz 8⅓ dollars p month from 5th March last.
