Sir] Accountants Office April 14.^th 1800 I duly received your letters dated the 26 February and 7.^th Instant, referring you to what I wrote you on the 11 Feb.^y last. I can only say in addition that for any arrearages of Subsistence due you it is necessary that you should state an account there[of] — Shewing the times, the places where Stationed — the number of Rations & amount due — an account thus Stated & Attested to, by you, before a magistrate & and forwarded to this office will after examination be paid Sam W^o W.L. The Secretary of War April 14.^th 1800 Sir B^ct Frances Montjos has exhibited an account charging compensation as Inspector of Troop Munisters of the United States, from the 1 Dec.^r 1799, to the 1 April 1800, at the rate of two Dollars a day, under an appointment from the War department the 10 July 1799, from which period, up to the time now charged, he has been paid at the rate fixed in the appointment; in addition to other allowances by his accounts having been sanctioned & admitted by the Secretary of War, I have [undecipherable] laws that will authorize the allowing of his account, but if the Secretary of War should still be of opinion that B^ct Montjos' pay can be continued for the time charged, since said appointment he will be pleased to signify it by letter that I may examine & report accordingly — Sam W^o W.L.
