Sir
Robert Hall contractor in North Carolina during the last year having received considerable sums of money and never rendered any accounts for the disbursement thereof, I have to request that you will on find for and immediate settlement by causing his accounts to you to be forwarded to this Office for final examination. It may be proper to mention that in addition to the monies advances to him by you his draft for one thousand Dollars on the Secretary of War has been paid a few days since. The length of time since McBall has come into Contract, the magnitude of the charges against him and he having never rendered any accounts makes most the more urgent for and immediate transmission of his accounts.
