Shot Deposited at Fort Jay, Etc.
Document 1800Gordon explains that the shot can be deposited at Fort Jay on Governors Island. but since it belongs to the United States it should be kept separate from the state ammunition. Gordon talked to the owner of the vessel bound for New Orleans who reported that the cabin will be filled with freight so there is no room for Hodgdon's friend. Still there should be room for him in other vessels bound for that port.
