Returns of the above description, made by officers under the [undecipherable] of Regiments needs to be countersigned by the principal Officer, present of the Branch of the Staff with which such officers are connected, then it shall de compts and assistants by their General, upon which returns they may receive from the nearest Deputy Paymaster General, the cloathing and pay and from the nearest to [undecipherable] entitled to their due to such Soldiers, it being the recommendation of the [undecipherable] office who thus entred to furnish the master or waiter in his employ, to give [undecipherable] furnished [undecipherable] to be discharged, the Paymaster of the Regiment to which such masters may belong and report, to them from time to time, the payments made and the cloathing furnished thereon [undecipherable] Accounts of cloathing are to be kept by the paymasters, & the agents who [undecipherable] as may be charged with the duty of Paymaster, to conform [undecipherable] attainment of the purposes, to the returns of the Officer commanding any Stores, [undecipherable] [undecipherable] to which appointments upon the Stores shall be countersigned by the Officers [undecipherable] Board of the Regiment, as follows, before cloathing is to be issued to the [undecipherable] part of the company or troop.
