Wilkinson, in a letter to me of the 1^st Feb'y. requests that I would apply to you for one hundred Dollars, on [undecipherable] his account — & to pay the same to the bearer, Capt Josiah Hazard, Sailing Master of the Patapsco. — Permit me to request that you will please to issue a warrant in favor of M'r Hazard, on account of [undecipherable: probable reading "chargeable"] to, Gen'l. Wilkinson, for which I wish be accounta- ble, that he will admit [undecipherable] as a proper charge against him. M'r Hazard's Family is in distress — & this small sum, a [undecipherable] from the General, will aid in their relief. I have the honor to be with great respect D'r Sir Y'r most obed'd. Serv't.
