I have now to inform you that your accounts for rations hade Mess Brooks and W^m. furnished to the 14^th & 21 Reg^ts of Infantry, have been examined, and the sum of $713.76 has been found to your credit, differing from your Statement $31.72, which will be accounted for by the account of differences annexed. The balance due by you on last settlement of Dolls 213.26 being applied there leaves a balance still to give you on the settlement of five hundred & thirty dollars & nineteen cents, which will be transmitted to you by the Treasurer of the United States, to whom you will grant the necessary receipts for the same — Sam^ly [initials] Account of differences Amount of Gen^l.
