I have received your letter of the 6 Inst. informing me that Cap.t James Taylor is [undecipherable] to receive or cause to be constructed, certain Works & defences on Breton Island in Louisiana, and make their effectual buildings, and to make a return thereof and directing that I would agreeable to your letters dated August & 1799 & March [undecipherable] last, transmit then all [undecipherable] orders and instructions relative to his accounts for those objects — to enable me to comply with your request you will be pleased to cause me to be furnished with copies of your such letters —
