Recruits at Allecut from September to 31 December 1799 amounting [to]
your Statement to Drs41.16 has been examined & the following [undecipherable]:
Errors in charging is quite obvious — 10th
this does not admit Debate, in lieu of 3 tricts of salt assumpted
because the Act of Genl has directed that the Regulations for
distributing Salt are clearly directory as to the quantity that
may be allowed when absolutely necessary & cannot be combined
I was not intended to give an inducement to Officers for any
Spirits they have not earned by long American [undecipherable: fatigues], whether
on Service or from any other cause whatever —
I have therefore deducted the 8 dollars & the remaining therein 6.16
leaving a balance in your favor of 1 Dollars 24.21
