[Mr. Dan'l Clam [undecipherable] to [undecipherable] [undecipherable] [of?] Columbia county [undecipherable] Georgia also] Accountants Office March 6^th 1800 You having taken the business for the account due for the State in Georgia; and it being necessary for you to be very particular in stating your accounts & taking proper vouchers therein, I deem it proper to give you some general instructions for your government. You will therefore observe in stating your accounts, to make for every separate fort or Garrison, a distinct abstract, on which you are to state all your supplies under one or other of these three particular heads; first, number of Rations delivered, second Quarter masters Stores, & third Hospital Stores as the case may be, referring for each charge to its vouchers which are to be numbered from N^o 1 in regular progression. The vouchers necessary to accompany your accounts are the Officers express requisitions upon which you have made the issues, & if the articles are purchases the bills & receipts of the parties from whom bought are required, or if furnished from your own store in all cases where the contract does not specify as to the component mode of rations officers proof will be required that they are not [undecipherable] above the [undecipherable] or current price; above this [undecipherable] to the [undecipherable] of the articles being acknowledged by the commanding Officer shall be given a voucher [undecipherable] that all requisitions in the Hospital Department are to be drawn by the Surgeon or attending Physician & countersigned by the commanding Officer, and all officers [undecipherable] making requisitions for themselves or men shall in addition to their own signature be countersigned as aforesaid or to furnish a satisfactory reason; the Officer may take up his express order, only when his [undecipherable], at the foot of the abstract, [undecipherable]
