Accountants Office February 21 1800 I Certify that there is due to Samuel Hodgdon Superintendent of military Stores the sum of Two thousand two hundred twenty one dollars made for sundry [undecipherable], or sundry disbursements of his during the last two quarters of the Year 1799 [undecipherable] of the first quarter of the [present?] year, remaining to the [pay] of sundry persons employed on the military Store [Establishment?] stationary stock & other incidental contingent [expenses?] the sum of [undecipherable] expended [employed?] for public Service in W. S. Decr. 1824. 93 On an investigation of the particular items of expenditures and comparing them with the sums appropriated for them Purposes, I presume that there is no cause beyond the sums appropriated, but it being stated by Mr Hodgdon that they were necessary for the public Service they are admitted subject to the decision of the [undecipherable] officer to what appropriations each cause is to be charged.
