Sir, M^r Silas Dinsmore late Deputy Agent to the Cherokee Nation is to be settled with for the necessary expenses which he incurred in the discharge of his trusts as Deputy Agent aforesaid from the 25^th of June 1794 to the 23^d Feb^y 1799. The Charges which he can claim will chiefly be comprized under the head of the hire and keeping of horses necessary in his Agency, the support of his table during the occasional visits of Indians at his usual place of Residence, his necessary travelling expenses in the Nation and his own Rations, or an equivalent equal to his daily maintenance. If it is impossible for him to detail the items for the whole of these expenditures, you will have the amounts substantiated by his oath.
