[2-27-1800] 11 Natchez Feb^y 27^th 1800 Sir Since writing you on the 12^th Jan^y, Lieut^t Broote has been nominated, by the Officers of the 3^d Reg^t for their Pay Master; In order therefore to promote the views of Government, and the accommodation of the Troops, I have directed him to enter upon the duties of that Office, until the will of Major Gen^l Hamilton may be known—.
