Sir
Major Tousard, who has been charged by General Hamilton, with certain Duties relative to the formation of a code of exercise, manoeuvres and Regulations for the Artillery Corps of the United States, informs me that he is assisted in the execution of his trust by Capt G. Izard, Cadet Wilson and a Copyist, that he has hired an Office for them to work in at the price of Ten Dollars for the winter Months, I suppose per Month; that two Cords of wood per month will be wanted for the Office & some Carpenters Work, with rules, paper, quills, ink and the like. You will therefore be pleased to furnish the said Articles, and have such Work done in the Office as may be required by Major Tousard, & pay the Rent thereof.
