You wish to be made acquainted with the difficulties that have arisen in consequence of a division of the water depended on for our Mills — I have recently been informed, that a M^r Pease about two years sence erected a saw Mill on, & a dam across one of the small Streams that feed our Mill River, which causes a waste of water — in common seasons this waste would not be noticed — but in extraordinary dry ons like the present — every obstruction to the water effect us — I am taking measures with the proprietors of private Mills to have the evil removed, if possible without a litigation — if further difficulties arise, you shall be advised on the subject.
