War Department, July 18^th, 1800 I have the honour to transmit, a statement of the trade of the Indian factories from their establishment to the 9 Jan.^y 1800, with a copy of a letter which accompanied the same from M^r Harris, Store Keeper at Philadelphia, date the 8^th instant, and of my instructions to M^r Wright, the factor to the Georgia Store. The instructions to the factor of that at Tellico, Tennessee, are of the same import. Desirous of having the accounts kept by M^r Harris, of the transactions of their factories, according to the most perfect form, and so as to exhibit at all times a correct view of their actual state, it would be gratifying to me, if agreeable to you, that a qualified person should be named to examine the mode of keeping the accounts, and, if found in any respect defective, that he should be instructed in a more perfect arrangement for the future.
