[undecipherable] This letter refers to the letter of one to Capt. States Morris dated the 24 January 1800 — Page 460. Isaac Putnam, Audit 13 Reg^t        February 4^th 1800 Rutland Verm^t Sir William hewitt Commissr for Vermont having presented his accounts at this Office for settlement without that necessary evidence which you have acknowledged to be out your possession the object of this is therefore to request you will forward them to this Office that I may be enabled to judge of the propriety of the charge in the Quarter master's Receipt Dep^t You will please give me the names of three Commiss^y Officers & their Musters who appear to have drawn their subsistence from the 1 Oct to N Dec 1779 — Sam S. [undecipherable] Mr. William hewitt            February 4^th 1800 Windsor Vermont Sir Your accts handed to this Office for settlement by Judge [undecipherable] have been suspended for want of the original vouchers upon which you made the [undecipherable] at the late Visit of the parties from whose [undecipherable] were procured acknowledging to the obligation of [undecipherable] I have [always?] written to that Officer to forward them to this Office which when done your acct will be settled at last count having duly communicated to your Sam S.
