I have to request that you will examine the account & return it to me as soon as possible with your observations, that I may be enabled to judge of the balance claimed by them from the United States. Your delay in not forwarding the acct provisions of your agency on that expedition is attended with great difficulty & causes the claimants to complain of being kept from their just demands for such a length of time, that I cannot refuse making partial settlements when the same is practicable.
