[486] Capt Staats Morris Fort McHenry 2/00 [undecipherable] Ofce January 24^th 1800 I am enclos[ing] from John Dilly Esq^r Baltimore the sum of [undecipherable] dollars which you will cause to be pay to M^r [undecipherable], being his approved wages charges, out of which to be transmitted to this Office dues for two months rent of a room lately occupied by M^r John Travis Engineer at Fort McHenry according to his [undecipherable] dated 8 October [&] 31^st December 1799 the same having been allowed by the Act of War — [undecipherable] an account of Mary [undecipherable] to the Hospital from 1 [undecipherable] to 31 December 1799 I herewith advise you, for the purpose of having her claims credited on your muster [undecipherable] to Pay Rolls of your Company to be accompanied by a Certificate of the Surgeon of the Garrison stating that she was actually employed attending the sick of said Garrison during the period stated — this has been the usual way of making payment of like service.
