I hand you herewith a statement of the balance remaining in the hands of Gent James Dennis Ely of Gholson's Coy — on settlement of his account as Pay master for his Certificates — and Elys amounting to twenty dollars, for which sum you were held here accountable, & of which he will be informed —

I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30 Instt with the abstract amount of disbursements by Jno Williams & little for Lcut McPherson Militia: on looking over your accounts of disbursements in the expedition to Northampton I find considerable number of additional charges for monies paid for articles for the use of the Truc, which you have omitted to enter on the abstract above acknowledged. I have now to request that you will inform me if Lieut McPherson has received any public property on that expedition other as forage or other articles not particularly enumerated in your book and to for-bearance an abstract of the same and a full statement of all items of Expenditure on that expedition which relates to this General — Purely, so as to place me in full possession of the amount of monies expended for Surtable articles received by him —
