Sir I had deferred settling your acc^t from time to time under the expectation that you would have found it convenient to answer my letter to you of the 16^th July last. on the subject of certain vouchers to your acc^t which were suspended & returned to you therewith for further evidence, but not having rec^d aline from you in return I have now to inform you that your accounts up to the 30 Sep^t last, have passed examination & that a balance is found remaining in your hands this day amounting to twenty two thousand five hundred seventy three Dollars, & 46/100, with which you stand charged on the Books of this Office, differing from your statement one thousand twenty three Dollars & 79/100, which will be accounted for by the account of differences enclosed for your government. Your Instructions require the sanctions of the Superintendant, to all expenditures made by you on account of the armoury. In this particular the greater part of your vouchers are defective & and altho they have been admitted in this Instance, a strict compliance with your Instructions will be required in future.
