Document 1799Buck is asked to deliver a horse for the purpose of conveying the Quartermaster Sergeant to Fort Mifflin. This request relates to Major General Hamilton's order respecting the funeral honors to be paid to General Washington.
W. Buck - pine street - Phil - december 23rd evening Wm. Buck will please to deliver up to my waiter a horse to convey the quarter master sergeant to fort Mifflin this evening to return to morrow morning the hiring of it to be paid by the quarter master general’s deputy M. Miller North 8th street No.2. Lewis Tousard [567] I certify that Wm. Buck hired a horse for conveying an order to fort Mifflin in execution of Major general A Hamilton’s order relative to the funeral honors to be paid to the memory of the late chief general Washington The horse was hired in the evening and returned only at 12o clock the next day Lewis Tousard
