[455] James Morrison Esq^r Attorney Louisville Kentucky Accountants Office December 27, 1799 Sir I have received your letter dated the 2^nd Instant and am pleased to find that you have received repaid of the balance due by John Connors the remainder I need not assure you would be proper to be repaired as early as possible unless of any further difficulties occur I wish you to present them to me I shall make a proper representation thereof to the Comptroller of the Treasury who will direct the proper steps in the recovery equally to have In making the remittance for what you have received, write as what remains to be paid, you will pursue the most [undecipherable] & ready course of which I have you to judge.
