Treasury Department Comptrollers Office. 26^th December 1799. Sir, By an accompt of James & Ebeneger Watson Merchants of New York, adjusted at the Treasury, for freight, primage and other charges on 126 cases containing 2520 Muskets, with their ram-rods, Bayonets, &ca imported from Hamburgh in the Ship Rover and Snow Acteon, it appeared, that the same have been delivered by them to Ebeneger Stevens, Agent for the Department of War, agreeably to his receipts dated the 8 and 10^th of November 1799 (filed with the said ac-compt at the Treasury.) copies whereof are herewith transmitted. It is therefore my re-quest, that you will make the requisite entries in the books of your Office, for holding M.^r Stevens accountable for the same.
