Horses for General Washington's Funeral
Document 1799Major Tousard has been charged by General Hamilton with the superintendence of the funeral honors for General Washington. Tousard should be furnished with as many horses as he needs to perform his duties.

Major Tousard has been charged by General Hamilton with the superintendance of the funeral honors intended to be paid to the late illustrious Commander in Chief General Washington. The Major will want some horses in the performance of those duties. You will be pleased to furnish him as many as he may have occasion for, also a man and horse to go to day to Fort Mifflin.
