I have received a letter from the Off^r. of the 12^th Regiment in which he is ordered by the Commandir of the Brigade to furnish them with twenty eight Thousand Ball Cartridges suitable to the calibre of their army together with a number of Ammunition Boxes sufficient to contain them - & requests me to make the Supply, but there being no ammunition in my possession, belonging to the U States, beg to request your attention to the needful, in this business and let them be forwarded to the Commander of the Brigade at [undecipherable] Camp as soon as may be.
