I have received your letter of the 8th Instant enclosing a receipt for the hire of a fifer which will be [undecipherable] subject to an examination when you forward your Recruiting account for settlement this I wish may be done as soon as possible in order that I may be enabled formally to close your account on the Books of this Office the balance transferred to the Pay master General for settlement —
