The Secretary of War It appears that the Secretary of War did receive from Francis Montijo, on the 2 July 1797, the sum solicited of the Secretary of War to M^r Hawkins the sum of 350 Dollars to be distributed as Grants & Interest which sum was, annuited to the debt of the Indian Department, and not charged to any personal account; there does not appear to have been any separate Warrant upon from this Department for the sum of 500 dollars, chargeable to the Secretary of War or the late King Hawkins — Department of War Accountants Office November 28 1799 [signature]
