Mumford — in Tantom Grout this 20 Paid for 2 Dues for New Island one for D^o 12 ¹⁄₂ One for — 17.50 182.50 Also the following charges not accompanied by vouchers or any other information on the subject, viz: Your Treasurer for the remaining part of New York [?] 20. 57.30 M^r. King — for North battery — p^d 10. — Sam^l King for 2 Lots North battery — p^d — 40 — The Secretary of War will please to give me such information with respect as he may possess, which may be necessary to the settlement of the said expenditures — Sam^l [?] W^t. The Secretary of War It appears that the Secretary of War did receive from Francis Montjos, on the 2^d July 1797, the sum at Solicitor of the Secretary of War to M^r Hawkins the sum of 350 Dollars to be distributed as bounty & Indian which sum was, accredited to the debit of the Indian Department, and not charged to any personal account, there does not appear to have been any separate Warrant from this Department for the sum of 500 dollars, chargeable either to the Secretary of War or to the Attorney M^r.
