I wrote you on the 11 September to replace some unauthorized charges exhibited in your account, to which you have not thought fit to reply. I have therefore made a partial settlement admitting the objectionable charges for causes mentioned on the annexed statement amounting to Eighty three Dollars & 7/100 leaving a balance of 261 3. in your favor to be set against the sum of 300 dollars advanced you on account. Of course you still owe the United States the sum of Thirty eight dollars 90/100 for which you are held accountable on the books of this Office.
The rejected vouchers are now enclosed for you.
