I have received your letter dated the 1st inst. accompanied by the papers therein mentioned. the Pay master General having an Office erect in this place as it being his duty to examine & liquidate all Army accounts in this first instance, the papers have been referred to that Office for that purpose. It may however in the mean time be proper to mention that the company statements and account current will not accompany the papers, which will be required previous to their examination. McSimon no doubt will assist you in this case. the monies standing to your debit on the Books of this Office, have been accordingly transferred to those of the Pay master General & to him your accounts are to be rendered &c
