[Addressed to: William Simmons esqe / Accountant / of the War Department / Philadelphia]
[Endorsed: David Henley / received [undecipherable] 27th]
Sir
I returned to this place from Tellico something fatigue, for the business of delivering out the Cherokee annuities required some labour and exercise. — I shall now continue to send forward all my Accounts. The Army is paid up to the 30 September and most other accounts are close, so that the demand against the public is not great.
That I have been waited upon by the Representatives of this State respecting Major Johnsons defered balance claimed by him and those under his command; and in respect to a claim of a Mr Cozby for a pension, and likewise in respect to George [undecipherable] Davidsons claim for which services money had been put into the hands of David Allison, who, in all probability made a different use of the Money, than was intended; of these I shall, send on
[strikethrough: abstracts from my] estimates and hoping next post that you may be ready for to meet the demands which will be made by Judge Anderson and Mr Claiborne for the Claimants:
I am Respectfully
of
Your Hum. Servant
