Mr Samuel Lewis Clerk in the War Office having received the following sums Vizt
on the 19 July two hundred & fifty five Dollars & 7/100 for the pay of the Troops at Niagara, including price of Vinegar meals for June. and
On the 21 Augt following six hundred & fifty four dollars & 4/100 for the pay of the Troops at Niagara from March to 31 May 1799 —
which sums he states to have remitted to you on the 22d of August, for which your receipts have not come forward, you are therefore required to forward duplicates receipts without delay, and to cover to me for the purpose of making the proper entries on the Books of this Office —
