The Democrats it seems have prevailed this time, but Trust it will be the last, as it is probable that by an other Annual Election their Boasted Allies the friends of the Republic will be Extinct — On the 21^st Inst Glendering & J^no McConache arrived & delivered Several Packages containing Clothing for the Troops at the N. Western Posts agreeable to their Several Invoices together with three Bhl^d N^o 275 Said to contain 70 suits of Infantry Clothing & one Bale N^o 4 Said to contain 70 Blankets The whole Addressed to Cap^t Jonathan Taylor 4^th Reg^t Lexington Virginia be pleased to inform me by return of Post whether these Clothings has not come forward by mistake having been intended for Lexington near Staunton or has it been intended for Lexington Kentucky at all events a knowledge of its proper distinction is immediately Necessary — I am Sir with great regard Your Obedient Servant Isaac Craig [Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r Philad^a] [true copy] P.S You will find enclosed my Draft on Caleb Swan in favour of Robert Andrews for 352 Doll 87 Cents which I have to request you to take the trouble of handing to M^r Andrews & at the same time take up my Memorandum now in his possession of his having Deposited that Sum with me. — M^r Andrews informs me that his Residence whilst in Philad^a will be at Doctor Andrews in the University — I am Sir your &^c Isaac Craig [Hodgdon Esq^r]
