In the 14 Ulto I wrote you respecting some apparently extravagant & unauthorized charges for extras furnished yourselves & friends by James Little Contractor & requesting you to forward the original returns upon which those charges were made that I may be enabled to judge how far your own authority or making your requisitions upon the Contractor to which I have not yet received your answer. I apprized you from the above I expected of having those returns transmitted as soon as possible that you could have prevented the necessity of a second letter upon this occasion by an immediate application as you have neglected, I therefore again repeat to you to lose no time in transmitting to this Office all the returns for Quarter Master & Hospital Stores, with such other explanations as the nature of the returns may require. —
