I now inclose you a copy of my Entrys in my Books for the Month of August, and intended sending some further Abstracts of my Accounts for the Year 1798, with such explanations as might serve to elucidate an examination of my Accounts, but Major Lewis is come on and as agent to the Cherokees requests their Goods which will be delivered at Tellico's therefore to [undecipherable] several hundred Indians being at an expence to Government must attend to them in delivering their Goods, you will therefore receive this as an apology for not receiving any letters a post or two, when I will return and resume the finishing my Accounts.
