Cap^t William Littlefield Fort Mifflin Accountants Office October 15 1799 Sir I have received your letter of the 2^d Sept^r enclosing muster & Pay rolls of the troops stationed at Fort Mifflin for the month of Septem^r 1799 which have been filed. M^r Calderwood the Pay master General for examination & Settlement to whom all your future transmissions of Army accounts are to be made. The uniform arising on the price of rations as Settle on your Subsistence Acct ending 30 Sept 1798 (say Dolls 3.82) has been credited to your credit leaving a balance now standing against you of Doll^s 21.44. a Statement whereof has been forwarded to the Pay master General who will of course make the necessary deductions from you in par in order to balance that sum — I am &^c W S Caleb Swan Esq^r P. m.
