C^t October 12^th 1799 Sir I have rec^d your letter dated the 26^th Ult^o enclosing Muster & Pay Rolls of the Recruits under your Command from 1 July to 30 Sept^br — the Pay master had having desired an Officer in this Place & c^t being his duty on the 1^st Instant to receive for examination all Army accounts — the Rolls were accordingly referred to that Office & he will direct the necessary steps for the payment — I am &^c W.S. ___ William Crafts Esq^r Agent of Fortifications Charleston S.C.
