I received your letter of the 30th insto and am sorry that you have been put to so much trouble in obtaining your dues, this must have been delayed in consequence of the pay mt Genl who has been ordered on to the Seat of Government not having been able to, who in the first instance is to liquidate all army claims. I have however in order to prevent you from any further trouble settled your account in this Office and through Mr Field Capt Shearman remit you the balance due to whom you will please to apply and give him the necessary receipts —
