Sir
The sum of three thousand four hundred
twenty five dollars &31/100, has this day been admitted to
the credit of Frances Mentges for articles purchased by him
for the use of the Fortifications erecting on the Islands on
the River Delaware; the whole of which are receipted for
by the commanding Officer of the Garrison as being duly
delivered on said Islands for the above mentioned purposes.
Of this information you will make such use
as you may judge proper.
