To the Chiefs of the Shawanese
My Sons,
In order to make it convenient for all the nations, I informed you that I would give your Goods at Fort Miami. All the preparations were made and every thing ready when I received a representation from the nations generally that they should lose their fall hunt if they were to Fort Miami now, and requesting the Goods might be sent to Fort Wayne, and kept for them there till the middle of May. As I always wish [undecipherable] with their wishes as far as I can, I consented and the Goods will go there [undecipherable] as the water [undecipherable] I will know whe[undecipherable] to the Shawanese the [undecipherable] their fall hunt would be, and I send this to tell th[undecipherable] that at the general request of the nations, and for their own benefit the giving the Goods this fall has been put off and to prevent any of them losing their time in going to Fort Miami— Next Spring at the time they wish they will get them at a more convenient place, and may be the next years Goods along with them.
