Knoxville Oct. 30. 1799 Sir, I returned to this place from Tellico something fatigued, for the business of delivering out the Cherokee Annuities required some Labour & exercise. — I shall now conti= =nue to send forward all my accounts. The Army is paid up to the 30^th Sept^o 1799. and most of abstracts are closed, So that the demand against the Public is not great. — But I have been waited upon by the Representatives of this State respecting Major Johnson's deferred Balance claimed by him, & those under his command and in respect to a Claim of a M^r Cozby for a pension; & likewise in respect to George Lee Davidson's Claim for which Suries money been put into the hands of David Allison, who in all probability made a different use of the Money than was intended — of this I Shall Send an extracts from my Estimates and Papers; next post that you may be ready for meet the demands which will be made by Judge Anderson & M^r Claiborne for the Claimants I am Respectfully Sir Your Humble Servant David Henley A^gt War [H Simmons Esquire]
