I have received your letter of the 19 ult on the subject of Rations Issued by Officers in 1794. If the claims you have are for these rations on the Militia Expedition they should have been presented to Colol Heath the agent of the Virginia Militia on that Expedition & his accounts & vouchers have since being lodged, & the amount forwarded by him to this Office this not having been done & these accounts being now finally settled I am at a loss to inform you when payment can now be made as the examination would be attended with great difficulty

On examination of the accounts of William Boyce Contractor at Charleston, S.C. it appears that Major Toussard & yourself have drawn double rations for the month of June last as commandant at Fort Johnson. —
