I have received your letter of the 22d instant.
It will be best for the present, to have the Cartouch boxes which pass inspection, stored, as well as the shoes. I have no objection upon your opinion of the superior quality of the leather and goodness of the workmanship, to authorize you to engage for one or two additional thousand pairs. It will be necessary to have every pair inspected, and the certificate of the inspector procured, stating the number which pass inspection.
