D 1799 Sir Enclosed I hand you a letter received from Lieu^t Kirkpatrick dated the 6 July last enclosing one from Lieu^t Vanburen to him on the subject of his pay whilst acting as adjutant. I have informed the first named officer that they would be transferred to your Office for examination, and that you would communicate will him on the subject. I am &^c &^c Caleb Swan Esq^r P. M. G September 25^th 1799 Sir Major William Kersey in a letter to me dated the 26 May last, which I herewith enclose you requests that payment might be made to John Harris military Store keeper for an unsettled account due the United States factory at Tellico amounting to twenty five Dollars &c, that the same on information being given to Cap^t Biven might be deducted from his pay — as all accounts relative to the army are in the first instance received & adjusted by you — I have informed that Office that his letter would be accordingly referred to your office — I am &^c W.
