As you stand charged with monies on account of the Recruiting service, I have to request that you will forward your recruiting account — noting against the names of each Recruit, where & when he is a mustered, whether present, absent on leave, or deserted, & if the latter when, if any of them are inlisted soldiers, it will be necessary to note when & from what Company & Regt exchanged — you will also forward the Receipt Rolls or copy of yourself & recruits for the months of February, March, April & May 1799, in order that I may be enabled finally to close your account on the Books of this Office — as all army accounts of nature are to be transmitted to the [undecipherable: Secy] Auditory & Pay master General for examination & settlement.
Inclosed is a blank for Musterlike since last which please to have done accordingly.
