September 20. 1799 Sir Herewith you will receive an abstract of the monies standing on the Books of this Office to the debit of the paymasters of the additional Regiments, their Bonds & Oaths of Office as far as they have been received at this Office also accompany this, as it is thought they should more properly be plan in your Office — The Bond & Oaths of office of Lieut New^l lay master of L^t Col^o Darken's 1^st U.S. Reg^t have never been transmitted to this Office; it is however entered on application to the War Office, that the Bond was taken by I^st Lieut agreeably to his letter dated 13 May last & the Secretary of War to Coll^o Simms who forwarded it to Major Gen^l Hamilton.
