I have received your letter of the 23 Ulto enclosing two receipts for bounty paid Thomas Howard & Jacob Frederick, & one for ten dollars paid for apprehending a Deserter, all of which will be filed, subject to examination on the settlement of your next account — With respect to the difficulty which you speak of, it is not an error, but arises in consequence of EdwardUcket &cy not having receipted on the acct Rolls for his pay, sixteen Dollars, having been embraced in the Pay Rolls & remitted you for that purpose, which is the amount you state as being short credited, if you have paidUcket for April & May it will be necessary to send forward his receipts —
