Capⁿ Staats Morris Fort M^cHenry Accountants Office Septem^r 9^th 1799 ~ Sir I have received your letter of the 4^th Instant enclosing the muster rolls for pay of the Troops under your Command at Fort M^cHenry for the month of June last, which has been examined & found correct. the amount thereof, ampt being six hundred twenty six Dollars 96^cts has been pass'd to your credit Enclosed you will receive a statement of your accounts from which you will observe that there is a balance against you of forty dollars $39.24 which sum will be deducted from your pay by the Pay master General ~ I am &^c W.S.
