I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 3rd inst. with the locks you was so good as to forward to me, I thank you kindly for your inform[undecipherable] of the safety of my house, the[undecipherable] that persons hazard their property at in removing and leaving almost every thing behind them is considerable and was it not for the attention of the few who remain behind [undecipherable] not know what would be the consequence, — I cannot recount
for your representation of not a case of the fever to be found in Philad. when the papers and reports speak of so many. — We are all tolerably well situated here, with respect to office room accomodations for ourselves and families and Marketing — you may rest assured that all the many of our friends in Philad. are so sanguine of their being no danger; yet we are not without our fear for their safety —
